How is cotton seed protein use at cosmetics?

Cottonseed protein is derived from the crushed seed of the cotton plant. It is commonly used in animal feed, but is also gaining popularity as a sustainable, plant-based source of protein for human consumption. Cottonseed protein provides an excellent source of essential and non-essential amino acids, and is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. Additionally, cottonseed protein is gluten-free and low in cholesterol, rendering it a useful source of nutrition for individuals with certain dietary restrictions.

What is cotton seed protein percentage?

Whole cottonseed contains 24% crude protein on a dry matter basis. The total protein content in the whole seed can range from 17-26%. It is an excellent source of protein (20%) crude fiber (22%) and TDN (90%).

What is the cotton seed nutrition facts?

Whole cottonseed contains 96% total digestible nutrients (TDN), 17% fat, 21% crude fiber, 24% crude protein, 0.16% calcium, and 0.75% phosphorus on a dry matter basis. It also contains 120 calories per serving, 14g of fat, 3.5g of saturated fat, 0mg of sodium, 0g of carbohydrates, 0g of fiber, 0g of sugars and 0g of protein. Cottonseed meal contains 104 calories per 28.35 g serving with 1.4 g of fat, 14 g of protein and 11 g of carbohydrates. Whole cottonseed has high protein (23%), high energy in the form of fat (20%), and crude fiber (24%) on a dry matter basis.

Cotton seed protein is the protein in cotton kernel. Cottonseed contains about 40% to 50% protein. Cottonseed protein is hydrolyzed by enzymes or acid and alkali to become hydrolyzed cottonseed protein. The degree of hydrolysis of cottonseed protein also changes with the difference of enzyme species or the difference of acid-base hydrolysis conditions, and the general hydrolysis products are mainly oligopeptides.

Hydrolyzed cottonseed protein is a hydrolysate of cottonseed protein derived by acid, enzyme or other method of hydrolysis. It is used in personal care products to provide deep moisturisation to skin, and has been shown to possess antioxidant activity. It is also rarely used in edible foods due to its pigment content. Hydrolyzed cottonseed protein has been studied for its effects on performance and blood parameters in animals. Both cottonseed protein hydrolyzate and cottonseed protein amino acid are soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents.

The "Announcement on the Catalog of Names of Cosmetic Raw Materials Used" issued by the State Food and Drug Administration in 2014, and the "Chinese Name Catalog of International Cosmetic Raw Materials Standards" published by CTFA and China Fragrance Association in 2010 all use hydrolyzed cottonseed protein as a cosmetic raw material. Hydrolyzed cottonseed protein has a certain emulsifying property and anti-oxidation effect, and is suitable for use as a skin care raw material for cosmetics.
