Application of Astragalus Root Extract Astragalosides in Cosmetics

Astragalosides belong to saponins and are found in the rhizomes of Astragalus membranaceus. Astragaloside is composed of a number of saponins with similar structures, among which Astragaloside Ⅰ, Astragaloside Ⅱ and Astragaloside Ⅳ are more abundant, and Astragaloside Ⅳ has the highest content and the best biological activity. Astragalus saponins can be extracted from the rhizomes of Astragalus plants.

Physical and chemical properties

Astragaloside is light yellow powder, slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and methanol. The CAS number of astragaloside is 84687-43-4.

Safety management

The "Announcement on the Catalog of Names of Cosmetic Raw Materials Used" issued by the State Food and Drug Administration in 2014, and the "Chinese Name Catalog of International Cosmetic Raw Materials Standards" published by CTFA and China Fragrance Association in 2010 all use baicalein as a cosmetic raw material.
